Brighton can take a big step towards automatic promotion to the Premier League with a win at Leeds, who have top-flight ambitions of their own.
The Seagulls have been fighting a ding-dong battle with Newcastle at the top of the Championship for most of the season, but need to win at Elland Road to ensure Huddersfield don’t start entertaining thoughts of gatecrashing the promotion party.
A Look At Leeds’ Betting Odds
Leeds extended their unbeaten run to six games with a goalless draw against QPR, but manager Garry Monk was far from happy with the performance, claiming his side were “below the standards…we usually set”.
United are hardly prolific at home where none of their games have produced more than three goals, while only 32% of their games have involved both teams scoring at Elland Road.
Digging deeper, United have not scored before the break in 11 of their 19 home games, while Brighton have also been scoreless at half-time in their last three games away from home.
No goals in the first 45 minutes looks great value in the Leeds v Brighton betting odds at 31/20.
A Look At Brighton’s Betting Odds
Brighton are back on track after overcoming successive defeats in the space of five days with back-to-back victories against Rotherham and Derby without conceding a goal.
The Seagulls have an incredible recent record against Leeds, winning their last six encounters at an aggregate score of 13-1. They have also kept clean sheets in more than 50% of their games this season, so we are drawn to Brighton winning to nil at 13/5.
We’ve already remarked on how Leeds keep it tight in the first 45 minutes, so Draw HT/Brighton FT at 9/2 also appeals, as does Brighton simply to win at 27/20.
