Crystal Palace seem unstoppable at present and the 3-0 drubbing of Derby County last Saturday cemented their place at the summit of the Championship table, a spot that they will be keen to hang on to as they travel to Elland Road to face Leeds United this weekend.
Having tipped the Eagles to win in a couple of their recent fixtures and seen them justify my faith by securing easy victories, I simply have to continue backing Ian Holloway’s boys.
Fortunately for me (and you if you choose to follow my tips) they look a sure-fire thing on Saturday afternoon, so I have no issues in talking the in-form side up in this betting preview.
Not only have Palace won five on the bounce, they are unbeaten in their last 14 league fixtures, winning 11 of those matches. And it is not just their form at Selhurst Park that has been prevalent throughout this incredible run.
On the road, an impressive 16 points from a possible 18 proves exactly how confident they currently are, so it certainly would not be a shock to see Palace go to Elland Road and pick up all three points and given the stats, the 7/5 on offer at bwin looks like a steal.
New customers who open an account with bwin are entitled to a free £20 bet and putting that on Palace to beat Leeds will pocket you £48 if it proves successful.
While Palace are in the form of their lives, the same certainly cannot be said for Leeds. Neil Warnock’s side have slumped to 18th place in the league on the back of three consecutive losses and as a result, they are considered 9/5 outsiders for this weekend’s clash (the draw is a 9/4 chance).
With the Whites having only netted three goals in their last five league matches, it could be another day when the Leeds faithful have very little to sing about.
A recent 6-1 home loss against Watford will still be fresh in the players’ minds and a meeting with the best side in the league of late must be the last thing Warnock’s men need this weekend.
I am not for one minute saying that I think Leeds supporters will have to suffer another dreadful day similar to their humbling by the Hornets, but I do predict a comfortable win for Palace.
With this in mind, backing the Eagles in the 1-0 handicap market could pay dividends. Palace to win by two or more goals is available at odds of 18/5 and given the fact that a bet on this outcome would have proved successful in three of Palace’s last four fixtures, it must be worth a flutter.
To cover this bet, plump for the Eagles to record a 2-1 victory, which is priced at 33/4. Three of their last four fixtures on the road have ended in this scoreline so it would certainly be going with form if it was to end in this result.
