Norwich City captain Grant Holt is facing a race to be fit ahead of Nottingham Forest’s visit to Carrow Road this Friday.
The Canaries’ top scorer has been given a “slight chance” by boss Paul Lambert of being named in the starting XI after picking up a hamstring injury in Tuesday evening’s 2-2 draw with Watford.
Having scored 21 goals this term, the 30-year-old has been instrumental in City’s charge up the Football League, following their promotion from League One last season.
If Holt misses out, then Simeon Jackson and Sam Vokes, both of whom were on target against Watford, will be charged with the responsibility of finding the net again.
But having not lost at Carrow Road in the league since December, third-placed Norwich are favourites to win the match and are currently priced at 9/10 with bwin.
Forest, however, will be looking to bring Norwich’s undefeated home run to an end and, after a much-needed win over Burnley on Tuesday, they currently sit in seventh place in the Championship.
The Reds’ win over the Clarets was their first in ten games and lifted them to within a point of the play-off places and manager Billy Davies believes it will have worked wonders for their confidence.
“We needed the three points against Burnley to hopefully kick-start us again and you never know, we just might end up hitting a good run at the right time,” he said.
Away fans looking to see their side continue their winning ways would see a £10 bet return £36.50 if they grab all three points.
And while Forest striker Robbie Earnshaw was disappointing against Burnley, fans could expect him to up his game against his former employers. David McGoldrick could also earn a start after scoring a brace on Tuesday.
The Canaries, last season’s League One champions, have made late goals their speciality this season and without them they would not be in such a favourable league position.
A £10 punt on the trend to continue and for them to win the second half could seem like easy money and will return £23.50. New customers can register here to receive a £25 free bet.
