Cardiff have endured a mixed start to the new Championship campaign but should have more than enough to see off bottom side Doncaster on Saturday.
The Bluebirds got off to a flyer with a 1-0 win at West Ham on the opening weekend before beating Bristol City 3-1 at home.
That was followed by three games without a win. Their last two matches in England’s second tier have resulted in 1-1 draws and bwin go 15/2 this match ends in the same scoreline.
The loss of their two star strikers from last season, Jay Bothroyd and Craig Bellamy, has left the goalscoring burden to new boys Robert Earnshaw and Kenny Miller.
Doncaster, on the other hand, have had a torrid start to the season, picking up one point thus far. Bwin price them at 26/5 to win in the Welsh capital, but a draw is probably the best they can hope for at odds of 53/20.
Their first point came in their last match – a 1-1 draw against Bristol City at the Keepmoat Stadium which gave them only their second goal of the season.
However, on the plus side for Sean O’Driscoll’s men, Cardiff’s shaky defence will surely give Donny chances to score and it is 6/5 that they find the net in the match.
Looking into the history of this tie, Cardiff have the upper hand, winning five of the last seven and losing just once.
Last season’s clash at the Cardiff City Stadium saw the hosts run out 4-0 winners and a repeat of that scoreline is a 17/1 chance.
It is hard to see past a victory for the Bluebirds – even though they appear a weaker side than last season – as Donny have looked bereft of confidence thus far.
Interestingly, Cardiff have played twice at home this season and Doncaster have played twice away and all four games have produced three or more goals, so we will go with over 2.5 goals in this match at odds of 7/10.
