Cardiff City, who just missed out on Premier League football via the play-offs last year, have made another strong start to this campaign.
With an impressive performance away at West Ham and a 3-1 victory over Bristol City, it is no surprise that they are 3/4 to see off Brighton at the Cardiff City Stadium.
Under manager Gus Poyet, the Seagulls topped the League One table last season with a staggering 95 points.
They have also won their opening two fixtures, adjusting nicely to life in the Championship and are 333/100 to win tonight.
However, Brighton are likely to struggle against a superior Cardiff outfit who will no doubt be in the hunt for promotion again.
All the signs point to a tight contest with both teams defensively strong and I can’t see there being many goals tonight.
Cardiff won more than half of their matches at home in the last campaign making it a very difficult place for away teams.
Meanwhile, Brighton took League One by storm and only conceded 18 goals on their travels, building their success on solid defensive foundations.
With that in mind I believe the Bluebirds will edge it by a single goal so the 13/5 on offer for under 1.5 goals appears to be good value.
Better value may be in a halftime/fulltime bet with some appealing prices in the market. In a closely fought and cagey affair like this I would be tempted to back the draw/Cardiff result with a second half goal winning it for City.
This bet is at 15/4 so punters who fancy it can use the free £25 bet for joining bwin and would stand to return a generous £118.75.
I wouldn’t be surprised if chances were few and far between in this match but the clinical finishing of Kenny Miller and Rob Earnshaw could make all the difference for Cardiff.
