Coventry City go into their Boxing Day fixture against Bristol City six points adrift at the bottom of the Championship following a run of 11 league games without a victory.
Despite picking up just three points in that time, the Sky Blues are the 3/2 favourites in bwin’s 3Way football betting market, with the draw at 11/5 and Bristol City priced at 17/10 to leave with all three points.
Interestingly, Coventry’s 1-0 home defeat against Hull last weekend was the first time in nine games at the Ricoh Arena that they had failed to find the net.
You can get 31/100 on Andy Thorn’s men notching at least once again, but the 23/10 odds on them firing another blank could prove a more tempting option.
The hosts are also favourites to score the first goal of the match at 19/20, while Bristol City are at 11/10.
For all Coventry’s woes, the Robins are hardly world-beaters themselves and currently occupy 21st place in the Championship, out of the relegation zone only on goal difference.
Four wins and a draw have been followed by a four-match winless streak, but their away form is still holding up, despite a 2-1 defeat at Derby two weeks ago. Before that, Derek McInnes’ men had won two and drawn two on the road.
Coventry will be praying for a win in this match, as a defeat will leave them even further adrift at the bottom, while Bristol City can climb away from the relegation zone with a win.
The corresponding fixture last season saw Bristol City win 4-1 and you can get a mammoth 250/1 about a repeat of that scoreline here.
Given Coventry’s terrible form, we are going to go with a Bristol City win as our recommendation. They are priced at 17/10 so punters joining bwin.com can use their free £25 bet on a Robins win and pocket £67.50 if they oblige.
