Peterborough are priced at 11/10 to halt a run of three straight defeats when they face Burnley at London Road on Saturday.
Posh, who started the season brightly, had scored in 17 consecutive games until their recent defeat at the hands of Middlesbrough and have not been involved in a goalless draw since December 2009.
With the hosts being an attack-minded outfit from the first whistle under Darren Ferguson, and with both sides sporting frail defences, the 27/20 for over 1.5 goals in the first half looks great value, as does the 29/10 for over 2.5 goals in the second half.
Burnley, rated as 23/10 outsiders, have won, drawn and lost in their past three outings, but boast the Championship’s joint top scorer in Charlie Austin, who can continue his blistering recent form.
Austin has scored the first goal in two of the Clarets’ last three league outings and his side are 13/10 to score the first goal on Saturday.
Eddie Howe’s men have, however, conceded in the first half in all but one of their league games this season, so the 13/5 for both teams to score in the first period is very tempting. Both teams to score in 90 minutes is 11/20.
The home side look to have goals throughout the team, with Lee Tomlin, set-piece specialist Grant McCann and George Boyd each a massive threat.
With England Under-21 international Jay Rodriguez and the previously mentioned Austin in Burnley’s ranks, it would be no surprise to see the sides cancelling each other out, so the 23/10 for a draw could attract plenty of attention.
I would lean towards a 2-2 scoreline, which is a massive price at 21/2. A free £25 bet for new punters on this scoreline would give a tremendous return of £287.50,
should that be the outcome.
