Burnley will be looking to continue a recent revival that has seen them win four of their last five matches in the Championship when they host Doncaster Rovers.
Their only defeat in that time came against Portsmouth twos week ago and since then they were pushed all the way by a nine-man Brighton side before sneaking a 1-0 success at the Amex Stadium.
Burnley can point to a 4-0 home win against Ipswich and impressive away victories at West Ham and Hull as evidence of their progression since a run of seven defeats in nine matches through late October and early November.
Meanwhile, Doncaster currently occupy 23rd position in the Championship but their comeback win against Leicester last weekend will give the team hope going into the Christmas period.
The problem for Rovers is that their away form is poor. The Yorkshire club have won just twice in 11 outings on the road this season, losing the other nine.
For their part, Burnley have only won three home games in the first few months of the campaign, but when they do win, they tend to do it with style.
So far they have won 5-1, 4-0 and 3-1 against Nottingham Forest, Ipswich and Blackpool respectively at Turf Moor and you can back them to win by two or more goals here at 39/20 (by betting on the Burnley win in the 0-1 handicap market).
Some punters will no doubt view the Clarets as a tempting proposition at 21/10 to win to nil, although Doncaster have scored three goals in their last two away matches.
In fact, for all their struggles away from the Keepmoat Stadium, Donny have scored in six of their last seven away fixtures.
With Burnley having scored in four of their last five at home, betting on both teams hitting the back of the net on Boxing Day looks a solid short-priced play at 67/100 chance.
Eddie Howe’s men will be expected to pick up all three points here, though, and they should have the capabilities to do so with a bit in hand.
With that in mind, there are a few bets to consider. Firstly, Burnley to be winning at half-time and full-time is 33/20, while on the correct score market you can back Burnley to win 2-0 at 31/4 and 3-0 is a 25/2 chance.
For our main selection, we will go back to the 0-1 handicap market. Football betting fans using their free £25 bet for joining bwin.com to back Burnley in this market will win £73.75 if the Clarets indeed win by at least two clear goals.
