Bottom of the table Doncaster Rovers are in desperate need of three points against Brighton on Saturday but the fact the game is being played at the Keepmoat Stadium suggests a win could be beyond their reach.
Dean Saunders’ men have managed just four victories on their own patch in 17 attempts this season, giving them the worst home record in the Championship.
Meanwhile, Brighton have picked up 22 points from 17 games on their travels, meaning they are one of the better away sides in the division.
Brighton have been level at the break in more than half of their away games so far this season (ten out of 17), with their last three games on their travels being 0-0 at the interval.
As such, it is no surprise to see Brighton have been installed as favourites to win the game in bwin’s 3Way football betting market at 29/20, with the draw at 21/10 and a Doncaster success at 37/20.
However, rather than betting on the final outcome, it could be the half time result where punters can make their money.
Brighton have been level at the break in more than half of their away games so far this season (ten out of 17), with their last three matches on their travels being 0-0 at the interval.
Significantly, the first half of Brighton’s away games have seen the Seagulls score four goals and concede four more – at eight, the joint-lowest total along with Hull.
Doncaster have only been drawing in four of their 15 home games at half time but the fact they have managed just four goals in the first 45 minutes of matches at the Keepmoat suggests fans at the ground on Saturday could be in for a dull opening period.
This points towards a half time draw, priced at 21/20, as well as a bet on a 0-0 scoreline at half time, which is available at odds of 17/10.
New customers who sign up for a bwin account receive a free £25 bet and using this to have a punt on a 0-0 half time draw will earn returns of £67.50 if the tip proves successful.
With Brighton winning three and drawing two of their last five away games and Doncaster losing two and drawing two of their last four at home, the Seagulls certainly look the more likely winners over the course of 90 minutes.
As such, a draw/Brighton win is also one to consider in the half time/full time market at odds of 5/1.
Recommended bet: Doncaster 0-0 Brighton at half time @ 25/4
