This Sunday sees Barnsley taking a trip south to Brighton, with both teams looking for a win to give their respective seasons a much-needed kick start.
The Seagulls are currently the favourites in bwin’s 3way football betting market, while the visitors are smartly priced at 18/5 and you’ll get 12/5 for a draw.
Brighton came flying out of the traps but have since hit a rocky patch and find themselves with no win in nine games ahead of the visit of Keith Hill’s men.
Their form at the new Amex Stadium has not been too impressive either, with just two wins in seven games in front of their passionate fans. wanting more impressive performances at home.
On the other side of the field, Barnsley, who sit 18th, have only won one away game all season, but managed to grab a win at home against Hull in midweek.
They will be looking for their first back-to-back victories of the season and will have to be at their best to earn it.
Interestingly, though, the Tykes would be sitting pretty in fifth place if matches finished at half-time. With that in mind, backing them to win the first half at 15/4 must surely be worth a punt..
An inevitable consequence of Barnsley’s great first-half form – considering their lowly position in the table – is their dreadful second-half performances.
They are yet to win the final 45 minutes of an away match and have conceded seven after the break in those seven fixtures, only scoring three.
Using a free £25 bet, which is available to new customers joining bwin.com, on Barnsley to be leading at half-time, only for Brighton to get the win, would return a tidy £725 at odds of 28/1 if successful.
