Hannover 96 v Nuremburg (7.30pm)
Home win: 5/4 Draw: 23/10 Away win: 21/10
Betting tip: Hannover 96 come into this game on the back of five consecutive draws in the Bundesliga. On three of these occasions Die Roten have come away with a 1-1 draw and odds of 5/1 are available on a repeat. A punt on this outcome using bwin’s free £25 bet would see you walk away with £150 if it proves successful.
One man to watch for a first time goalscorer bet is Hannover’s Mohammed Abdellaoue who is priced at 5/1. The Norwegian has enjoyed a fine run of goalscoring form at the AWD-Arena with five goals in his team’s last five games and scored last time the teams met.
Saturday, January 28th
Borussia Dortmund v Hoffenheim (2.30pm)
Home win: 17/50 Draw: 15/4 Away win: 31/4
Betting tip: Polish striker Robert Lewandowski has been in fine goalscoring form of late for Dortmund with last weekend’s double away at Hamburg marking a second consecutive brace for the striker. The 23-year-old looks good for a goal at the Westfalenstadion too, particularly against an out-of-sorts Hoffenheim with just one win in their last eight league games. With odds of 11/2 on Lewandowski scoring two or more here, punters could enjoy some steady returns.
Augsburg v Kaiserslautern (2.30pm)
Home win: 29/20 Draw: 11/5 Away win: 37/20
Betting tip: Augsburg and Kaiserslautern have endured similar goalscoring form in the Bundesliga at home and away respectively this season. Over the last five games, Augsburg have scored an average of a goal a game at home while Kaiserslautern have scored exactly one goal a game for the last five matches away from home. Furthermore, Kaiserslautern have drawn three of their last four games away 1-1, making a final score prediction of 1-1 at odds of 5/1 one to watch. But with Augsburg proving unpredictable, backing exactly two goals to be scored at 12/5 could be an easy way of hedging your bets.
Bayern Munich v Wolfsburg (2.30pm)
Home win: 1/5 Draw: 23/4 Away win: 21/2
Betting tip: Bayern Munich have enjoyed a rich vein of goalscoring form at the Allianz Arena this season and that looks unlikely to change with the visit of Wolfsburg, a team who have conceded 15 goals in their last five away games. Bayern Munich meanwhile have enjoyed goals aplenty as hosts, with four goals in three of their last five games at home. With good odds on a Bayern home match proving scarce, backing over 3.5 second half goals at 5/1 could prove wise. In their last two home wins, Bayern have scored three in the second half and with the Wolves the visitors they could go one better.
Hertha BSC v Hamburg (2.30pm)
Home win: 7/5 Draw: 23/10 Away win: 37/20
Betting tip: Last weekend’s 5-1 thrashing at the hands of Bundesliga champions Dortmund did provide one silver lining for Hamburg, as striker Paulo Guerrero notched up a late consolation goal for the home side. The strike saw the Peruvian continue a fine run of goalscoring form for Thorsten Fink’s rejuvenated team and they could not be playing Hertha at a better time with the Berliners without a win in three games. Guerrero has three in Hamburg’s last four matches, with the final goal of the game in the last two making odds of 7/1 on Guerrero to have the last say here a tempting prospect.
Werder Bremen v Bayer Leverkusen (2.30pm)
Home win: 13/10 Draw: 12/5 Away win: 39/20
Betting tip: Goals have come easy at either end for Werder Bremen and Bayer Leverkusen this season, with both sides seemingly adopting an attack is the best form of defence approach to mixed results. Leverkusen’s last five games have seen a total of 16 goals scored at either end while Bremen have seen 17. The teams have a fine record of high scoring encounters with three of their last four league games ending in 2-2 scorelines. Odds of 19/2 on a repeat could prove tempting for some punters while backing exactly four goals to be scored at 4/1 is an easy way of protecting yourself against any dips in form or focus. Leverkusen’s Eren Derdiyok has scored in three of the last four games between the sides and is also available at 5/1 to open the scoring here.
Cologne v Schalke 04 (5.30pm)
Home win: 13/5 Draw: 13/5 Away win: 19/20
Betting tip: FC Cologne’s momentum appears to be fading just as Schalke 04 come roaring back into the Bundesliga race. The Royal Blues are enjoying a great spell of form with the goals of Raul and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar proving the catalyst for some high-scoring wins. The Gelsenkirchen club will be confident of continuing that, too, after crushing Cologne 5-1 earlier in the season. With three of their last four wins seeing at least four goals, backing Schalke 04 to win with over 3.5 goals scored could be a great one for big bets at odds of 18/5. Last time out Huntelaar was the goal hero with a memorable hat trick and while odds of 25/1 on a repeat look unlikely, backing the Dutchman to score two or more at 11/2 could offer good returns.
Sunday January 29th
Mainz 05 v SC Freiburg (2.30pm)
Home win: 7/10 Draw: 13/5 Away win: 4/1
Betting tip: Mainz 05 have enjoyed a resurgence in home form in recent months, capped off by wins over Stuttgart and Bayern Munich. On both occasions the hosts have scored three goals and they are available at 27/10 to score three here. That said, Freiburg showed their mettle with a priceless 1-0 win over Augsburg. Interestingly, two of the last three games at home for Mainz have seen exactly four goals scored, meaning a repeat could be worth a try at 9/2.
VfB Stuttgart v Borussia Monchengladbach (5.30pm)
Home win: 31/20 Draw: 23/10 Away win: 33/20
Betting tip: Without a win in five Bundesliga games Stuttgart could well be dreading the visit of a Gladbach side fresh from a 3-1 victory over Bayern Munich. While much of the focus remains on Marco Reus, Gladbach’s two goal hero Patrick Herrmann could be the man to watch and he is available at odds of 13/4 to score at any time. The midfielder has had the final word in Gladbach’s previous two games and is priced at odds of 12/1 to score the last goal at Stuttgart.
