The last three encounters between Germany and Italy have ended in stalemate and another tight tussle is on the cards in Monchengladbach.

Die Mannschaft and the Azzurri shared the spoils in Bologna earlier this month and both teams are still unbeaten in Nations League Group A3.

Punters can get 3.8 for a draw at Borussia-Park and that is our opening Germany vs Italy prediction.

Germany Odds

Germany’s first three games in this pool have all finished 1-1, with a home game against England and a trip to Hungary following on from the Italy draw.

Saturday’s clash with the Magyars got off to an explosive start, with Zsolt Nagy firing the hosts ahead but Jonas Hofmann equalising on the break inside 10 minutes.

Hofmann wasted a great second-half opportunity on the counter, but Manuel Neuer was forced to make a couple of good saves at the other end.

“We need to make sure we learn our lessons from this game,” commented Hansi Flick. “We lacked a bit of conviction.

“I won’t start making any excuses, but we wanted the three points and everyone in the dressing room is disappointed that we didn’t get them.”

Germany are unbeaten in 12 matches overall and have lost only one of their last nine Nations League games, but they have drawn seven of those fixtures.

Die Mannschaft are without a clean sheet in a dozen outings in this competition, so 7.25 for 1-1 again here stands out from the Germany vs Italy odds.

Italy Odds

Italy are on top of the table at the halfway stage after beating Hungary 2-1 and drawing 0-0 away to England in their last two games.

Against the Three Lions, Davide Frattesi pulled his second-minute shot just wide after some lovely build-up play.

Mason Mount then hit the bar for England before Sandro Tonali was denied by the boot of Aaron Ramsdale when he should have scored.

Matteo Pessina also tested the Arsenal keeper and Raheem Sterling missed a sitter in a match lacking too much sparkle.

Roberto Mancini left Molineux satisfied with his inexperienced team’s efforts, though.

“I am happy about the result because this game wasn’t easy, especially because some of the players have already played twice and some have debuted here,” he said.

“We have to work on scoring, but of course if Frattesi scored early it would have been a different game.”

The Azzurri are rebuilding after failing to reach Qatar 2022 but Mancini’s teams have still looked well-drilled and organised in defence.

Let’s add 5.75 for the scores to be level at half-time and full-time to our Germany vs Italy betting tips.
