World Cup preparations are in full swing, with England taking to the field for their first pre-tournament friendly against Peru.
But the Three Lions aren’t the only Brazil-bound big gun in action; punters can also take a first look at Spain, Switzerland and Middle Eastern behemoth Iran too.
Giddier than Charlie in a chocolate factory, we’ve concocted a delightful treble for the betting masses to sink their choppers into featuring all three of these teams and paying out a shade shy of 14/1.
Read on to discover why it’s a worth a dabble:
Spain v Bolivia – Bolivia (+2) to win @ 8/5
The reigning world champs haven’t been exemplifying a standard befitting their title in recent months so don’t expect them to give Bolivia a bashing.
Of their latest nine outings, adversaries varying from Brazil to Belarus have all avoided defeated against the Spaniards when afforded a two-goal head start, six have got the better of them.
La Verde, on the other hand, would’ve bested four of their previous five foes had the scoreboard read 2-0 in their favour before the first whistle.
Switzerland v Jamaica – Switzerland (-2) to win @ 9/5
Ottmar Hitzfeld’s Swiss side has the potential to tread into the depths of the tournament and won’t have much hassle against Caribbean cannon fodder.
A pair of victories against stickleback-sized minnows St Lucia and Barbados represent Jamaica’s only wins in 16, with the likes of Trinidad and Tobago, Guatemala and Cuba all recently claiming the spoils at the their expense.
They haven’t been thumped that frequently, but they haven’t faced an outfit of La Nati’s stature in the alluded-to spell either so expect a pummelling to be doled out.
Iran v Angola – Iran to keep a clean sheet at @ 6/5
A dab hand at shutting out sides built of similar stuff, the Iranians will be relying on their rearguard to help them secure an unlikely advancement from World Cup Group D.
They’ve kept nine clean sheets in their previous 14 and come into this match after serving up bagels to the last two teams they’ve taken on.
