Tomorrow’s Group A Euro 2012 qualification clash between Germany and Austria throws together two teams at opposite ends of the form table.
While Germany have won five of their last six games, Austria have recorded just a single victory in the same timeframe.
With this in mind, it is no surprise to see that Germany have been installed as the strong favourites to take all three points in bwin’s 3Way football betting market.
Joachim Low’s side are priced at 4/25 for the win, with the draw at 23/4 and an unlikely Austrian success at 31/2.
The more you look at it, the more it seems like Germany will ease to a comfortable victory.
Brazil and Uruguay have been two of their recent victims and they have recorded seven wins out of seven in their qualification campaign so far.
Ranked the third-best team in the world by Fifa, Germany’s only recent defeat was against Australia, and this can be explained in part by the decision of Low to field an experimental side.
Austria, meanwhile, are ranked 68th in the world and were defeated 2-1 by Germany in Vienna when the two teams met earlier in the group in June.
As such, those looking to bet on a Germany win would do best to consider the handicap market, where more attractive odds of 12/25 are available for them to win by at least two clear goals.
Alternatively, punters could bet on the match to contain at least three goals at odds of 2/5 given Germany’s last six games have done so.
However, as neither of these bets offer particularly attractive returns, it might be worth turning to the regular time goal bet market.
Germany are in good goalscoring form – they have scored three times in their last two matches – but have also not kept a clean sheet in their last five games.
As such, a 3-1 win could be worth a punt at odds of 19/2.
A successful £25 free bet on Germany to beat Austria 3-1, available to new customers who sign up for a bwin account, would return £262.50.
