Liverpool are sitting pretty in their Champions League tie with Inter Milan after a 2-0 win in Italy but were given a tough test at the San Siro.

The Nerazzurri were the better team for large parts of that contest and are fancied to have their moments on Merseyside in the second leg.

However, that just points us towards 3.0 for a home win and both teams to score as our initial Liverpool vs Inter Milan prediction.

Liverpool Odds

Liverpool looked dangerous from set-pieces in Milan, with Sadio Mane heading over from close range in the first half before Roberto Firmino glanced in a 75th-minute corner.

Mohamed Salah added a deflected second eight minutes later after Inter failed to fully clear a free-kick crossed into the box.

Jurgen Klopp accepted his team had not been at their best overall, though, and is taking nothing for granted ahead of the return fixture.

“It’s half-time, nothing else,” insisted the German. “It will be a tricky one and we have to be ready for that.

“They played good, they played differently – but they are really good and that’s why it is only half-time.”

The Reds have an outstanding home record in Europe, though, and have been given another boost up front by the arrival of Luis Diaz.

With Salah, Mane, Firmino and Diogo Jota all on song, they should be able to see off spirited opponents here.

Looking at the 4.2 for the hosts to oblige 2-1, 3-1 or 4-1.

Inter Milan Odds

Inter were left to rue several near misses in the opening encounter, when failing to get any of their nine attempts on goal on target.

Lautaro Martinez fired a shot wide from just outside the area, Hakan Calhanoglu’s angled effort came back off the crossbar and Milan Skriniar headed wide at a corner.

“I think this match was good,” said head coach Simone Inzaghi. “If we take a look at our rival, we have played very well because our opponent was very good.

“We have to be proud, we played against one of the best teams in Europe and for 65 minutes we deserved to win it, but it didn’t happen and we didn’t manage to score.”

The Nerazzurri are in the knockout stages of the Champions League for the first time in 10 years, so surely they will still give it a go at Anfield.

Let’s add 4.2 for both teams to score in the first half to our Liverpool vs Inter Milan betting tips.
