Czech Republic coach Michal Bilek may have to use Saturday’s international friendly against Israel to experiment with his midfield after receiving news of a muscle problem that could rule captain Tomas Rosicky out of Euro 2012, where the Czechs are already 66/1 outsiders.
If all goes well when Rosicky meets with a doctor this week then he will still fly out to Poland and Ukraine. It is unlikely, though, that he will feature in the test with Israel in Austria, where his side are still priced at 18/25 to win without his services in bwin’s 3Way football betting market.
Israel have lost four of their last five matches and have fared even worse in friendly games, winning just two friendlies in the last three years. A draw, at odds of 5/2, is probably the best this Israel side can hope for after missing out on Euro 2012 qualification with a disappointing campaign where they only won five of ten games, finishing with a goal difference of just +2.
Note that both countries have played just once in 2012 and neither side scored in the first half of their respective games.
The odds on a surprise Israel victory, which would be their first ever against the Czech Republic, are 15/4. That means that any new customer to bwin.com who uses the free £25 bet for joining on an Israel win could be rewarded with £118.75 if the shock does come off.
Note that both countries have played just once in 2012 and neither side scored in the first half of their respective games. That helps make the case for a punt on a goalless first half on Saturday, priced at 9/5.
Another pointer is that both legs of Czech Republic’s play-off wins against Montenegro were 0-0 at the break.
That said, Israel’s poor record suggests Bilek’s side will ease clear in the end, with or without Rosicky, so the draw/Czech Republic win at half time/full time is one final option to consider at 18/5.
Recommended bet – Czech Republic 0-0 Israel at half time @ 9/5
