Promotion chasers Cambridge and Wrexham meet in the FA Cup this evening in what promises to be a close encounter.
Both sides are on impressive unbeaten runs, with Cambridge having gone seven games without defeat since a 1-0 reverse at Southport on 1st October.
Wrexham’s sequence has lasted a game longer, with a loss to Mansfield on 27th September starting a run of eight games without defeat.
This has helped the Welsh side to first place in the Conference National, while Cambridge are four points off the pace in third.
As such, it is Wrexham who go into the match as favourites to win in 90 minutes, although only just.
The Red Dragons are priced at 3/2 for the victory in bwin’s 3Way football betting market, with Cambridge at 31/20.
Wrexham are also more fancied if the match goes beyond normal time, with the away side priced at 3/4 to make it through to the next round and the home side available at 19/20 to get to the second round.
But with the final result being such a close call, the best bet could be on the game finishing level after 90 minutes at odds of 9/4.
Indeed, this was the outcome when the two teams met in the league earlier this season, with Cambridge securing a 1-1 draw at the Racecourse Ground in August.
Another bet to consider is on there being at least three goals in the game at odds of 18/25.
Only five teams have scored more than Wrexham in the Conference this season, and while Cambridge trail in the overall goals tally their attacking form of late has been particularly impressive.
The Us have scored at least twice in each of their last seven games and hit six past Hayes and Yeading in the last round of the FA Cup.
And given the pointers towards a high-scoring draw, a 2-2 final result could also be worth considering at odds of 21/2.
