Dagenham & Redbridge might be hovering above the League Two relegation places but this doesn’t mean they aren’t capable of pulling off an FA Cup shock against Millwall this evening.
The Lions are 7/50 favourites to make it to the FA Cup fourth round at the expense of their east London rivals, leaving the Daggers at 4/1 to progress.
Millwall are also heavy favourites – 21/50 – to win in 90 minutes in bwin’s 3Way football betting market, with the draw available at 13/4 and a Dagenham & Redbridge victory priced at 27/4.
However, the Lions’ most recent result – a 6-0 home loss to Birmingham on Saturday – shows all is not well at the Den.
Like this evening’s opponents, Millwall are in danger of dropping down a division and, like the Daggers, they are just one place above the relegation zone.
Meanwhile, they are rock bottom of the Championship form table, with four defeats in their last six and only four points picked up from a possible 18.
Dagenham & Redbridge are on a much better run, with their 1-0 defeat to Hereford on Saturday being their only loss in the last seven matches.
Crucially, the Daggers have conceded just four times in this sequence and with Millwall struggling for goals, John Still’s side look good bets to keep the score down even if they fail to clinch a win.
Millwall have not scored a goal for four games – a run which includes the match which forced this evening’s third round replay against the Daggers – and have scored just once in their last eight.
With this in mind, a bet on there to be under 2.5 goals looks great value at 19/20 when it is considered that over 2.5 goals is priced at 39/50.
A successful £25 free bet on there to be fewer than three goals when Millwall host Dagenham & Redbridge is set to return £48.75, with the free bet available to new customers who sign up for a bwin account.
The more adventurous punter could also consider under 1.5 goals at 11/4, with a successful £25 free bet set to return £93.75 in this instance.
Finally, with Millwall struggling for goals to such an extent, consider a 0-0 draw at 33/4 which would take the game into extra time.
After all, Kenny Jackett’s men failed to score against the Daggers in the first leg and there is no evidence to suggest they will have any more luck this time around.
