With some sides holding decent first-leg advantages and others with crucial domestic games on the horizon, striking the right selection balance will be key in deciding which teams remain on course for the Europa League final.
However, it would be a surprise to see Udinese’s Antonio Di Natale, Schalke’s Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Athletic’s Fernando Llorente fail to impact on their respective ties given their combined sparkling goalscoring form this season.
Should all three score at any time inside 90 minutes, then new customers using the free £25 bet they receive when joining bwin.com would win £228.15.
Antonio Di Natale to score any time @ 19/20 (Udinese v AZ Alkmaar)
The Bianconeri will be delighted to see the return of goalscoring talisman Antonio Di Natale, with their 2-0 defeat in Holland the culmination of a real slump in form during his absence through injury.
Di Natale only made a substitute appearance in the first leg but has added four more goals in Serie A since returning to bring his season’s tally to 18. Tonight he will look to improve his record of scoring in 86% of his games at the Stadio Friuli this term against an AZ side who failed to win away in the group stages.
Klaas-Jan Huntelaar to score any time @19/20 (Schalke 04 v FC Twente)
Last seen by many English fans tasting some Wembley turf, ‘The Hunter’ has been chewing up defences across Europe all season long.
His goal for Holland in that friendly was one of 40 for club and country this season and despite surprisingly failing to get on the scoresheet against Steve McClaren’s side in his homeland, it would be brave to bet against him notching in the return having averaged over a goal per game at the Veltins-Arena.
Fernando Llorente to score any time @7/5 (Athletic v Manchester United)
Athletic gave a counter-attacking masterclass in their 3-2 upset win at Old Trafford and with United needing goals to turn the tie around, they will no doubt have their opportunities to strike again at San Mames.
Fernando Llorente’s display and crucial equalising goal in that first leg provided further evidence of why he should lead the line for world champions Spain at Euro 2012 and United will presumably once again struggle to prevent ‘The Lion King’ from adding to his 23 goals this season.
