It’s with wind very much in the sails that the good ship news.bwin.com/en/ plots a course for the murky waters of the Europa League play-off round.
Yesterday’s continental venture saw backers of each of our three suggested bets in the Champions League equivalent trouser the loot, paying out a 4/1 treble.
The 2.5-goal line was a formidable ally in two of those three heists so we’re plotting our courses against it once more, in search of further midweek remuneration.
Read on for the recommendations…
17:45 – Over 2.5 goals in PSV v Shakhtyor Soligorsk @ 11/20
The Belarusian visitors are no back numbers here, having spanked Zulte Waregem on foreign soil in the last round.
Sadly for romantics they’re on a run of three defeats and a draw in four, yet their penchant for goals at both ends means there’s profit for the pragmatists here.
Hopping the 2.5-goals mark in five of their last six outings Shakhtyor will bring plenty of strikes to the yard of a side whose last three games have produced north of 3.5 net-bulgers.
19:00 – PEC Zwolle to beat Sparta Prague @ 19/10
A revelation in the Netherlands, where they landed the KNVB Cup, last term, the Bluefingers proved that was no flash in the pan when downing Ajax in the Dutch Super Cup at the start of this season.
They’ve won all three of their competitive outings so far in 2013/14 and the Czechs’ European road trips have not been going according to plan recently.
Held to a draw at lowly Levadia Tallin in the Champions League qualifiers two rounds back, they were comfortably disposed of by Malmo in Sweden most recently.
19:30 – Lokeren v Hull under 2.5 goals @ 13/20
The Tigers averaged less than a goal per away trip in the Premier League last season and they’ve notched once in two road games this term, drawing a blank in Slovakia in the previous round.
Lokeren have shipped a solitary strike in their last four games and given Hull are likely to prize a clean sheet above all this could be one for the drying paint enthusiasts.
