There’s little to separate Arsenal and Napoli on form after five wins from six in their domestic leagues and opening day Champions League victories, but the fact Rafa Benitez has had the luxury of rotating his squad could allow the Italians to edge past Arsene Wenger’s beleaguered charges at odds of 14/5.
Napoli’s leading scorers Gonzalo Higuain and Marek Hamsik were rested last time out.
One-time Arsenal target Higuain and the Slovakian have contributed four goals apiece to the cause across Serie A and Champions League matches this season.
Of the pair – 19/10 and 5/2 respectively to notch at the Emirates – only the former Real Madrid man was even a substitute against Genoa and both should be razor-sharp for their trip to north London.
Gunners stars Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud have already started nine games.
Neither man set the world alight last season, but the form of the duo has been a massive part of Arsenal’s rise to the top of the Premier League table in the current campaign.
The pair have shouldered the burden of making up for their missing teammates manfully, notching 13 of the 20 goals their side has managed in Champions League and Premier League action and creating a further four.
Both have been pre-match injury doubts for the Gunners at times this term and are unlikely to be in quite as rude health as the aforementioned Napoli twosome.
Arsenal are still without last season’s first choice band of three in Theo Walcott, Santi Cazorla and Lukas Podolski.
The trio were amongst the six leading assist makers in last season’s Premier League and while Mesut Ozil has arrived to help make light of their injury absences, he’s still getting used to his teammates and has arguably been outshone by Ramsey so far.
The Gunners have been conceding a few late goals in recent matches, with Marseille and Swansea spoiling clean sheets inside the last ten minutes and backing Napoli at 11/4 to win the second-half could be another cute way of exploiting the greater freshness of the visitors’ stars.
