Milan will hope to build on their excellent Champions League draw against Barcelona in the Nou Camp when Viktoria Plzen come to town tonight.
Rossoneri legend Clarence Seedorf has recently claimed the current squad is good enough to win the competition and he should know what it takes, having four winners’ medals with three different clubs to his name.
Their squad has been tested though, with Alexandre Pato, Robinho, Kevin-Prince Boateng and Philippe Mexes all ruled out through injury, while boss Massimiliano Allegri is also sweating on the fitness of star man Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Milan are only 12th in Serie A and have won just two of their last 14 Champions League games, both against Auxerre.
One shining light has been mercurial striker Antonio Cassano, who has had to play out of position to cover for shortages elsewhere, but has still managed to move to the top of the Serie A assists table.
Plzen must not be underestimated by the Italian giants as they are an experienced and well-organised team and looked good in their 1-1 draw with BATE Borisov in their Group H opener.
Having said that, Milan’s quality and experienced is likely to shine through at the San Siro and they are at 3/10 to win. Plzen can be backed to snatch a draw at 17/4, while punters looking to go one further will find odds of 8/1 on the Czech outfit winning the match.
An interesting fact punters should be aware of is that Milan have only kept one clean sheet in their last nine Champions League games.
Plzen are 19/20 to score in the match, which means a successful free £25 bet, available to new customers who sign up for a bwin account, on this outcome would return £48.75.
Looking at the goalscorer markets, Ibrahimovic will be sure to attract plenty of attention if it is confirmed that he will lead the line. The Swede is a 9/20 anytime scorer and 3/1 to break the deadlock, with Cassano at 4/1 to open the scoring.
However, more value can be found in Plzen players and their leading scorer with seven goals this season is Marek Bakos, who is priced at 13/4 to hit the back of the net on the night.
Other options include defenders Frantisek Rajtoral and David Bystron, who have both scored this season and are at 5/1 and 9/1 respectively to notch at any time.
