A look at Club Brugge’s betting odds
Michel Preud’homme’s Belgian champions have started their title defence about as well as Leicester, having topped the pile for the first time in over a decade last season.
Three losses and a draw in Brugge’s last five games see them down in ninth, which might explain their 19/10 odds ahead of Leicester’s visit, leaving the Premier League champions favourites in the betting.
Danish outfit FC Midtjylland won 3-1 here in last season’s Europa League, after Preud’homme and co were dumped out of this competition 7-1 on aggregate by a Manchester United side that eventually finished 15 points behind the Foxes in last season’s English top flight.
The hosts seem there for the taking.
A look at Leicester’s betting odds
The Premier League table does not look good for the champions of England after a 4-1 defeat away to Liverpool, leaving Claudio Ranieri’s side mired deep in the bottom half on four points in as many games.
Facing Brugge’s shouldn’t be nearly as tough as taking on Jurgen Klopp’s side was though, with the Reds excellent at home under the German and playing in front of the faithful for the first time since Anfield was extended over the summer.
Leicester were far from awful against Liverpool and head to Belgium with a mostly-fit squad, where they can unleash Ranieri’s brand of counter-attacking hell on less-expectant sides than last season’s Premier League also-rans seem to have become.
Against a team that was far from imperious at home in Europe last term, the Foxes should make hay and look decent odds to win at 7/5 in the betting.
