Both BATE and Sturm Graz have already played two qualifying rounds in this season’s Champions League and the group stages are so close they can almost touch them.
However, one of the two clubs will fall at the final hurdle. BATE are the 13/20 favourites to progress to the group stages, while Sturm Graz are an 11/10 chance with bwin.
Looking at tonight’s match and it is BATE who are the 4/5 favourites for the win, while the draw is 13/5 and a Strum Graz victory is priced at 63/20. The home side are deserving favourites, as they have won seven of their last ten matches and their defeat away from home last time out was their first since June.
They are currently running away with the Belarusian Premier League, leading the pack by eight points after 21 matches, having tasted defeat just twice all campaign. They have recorded wins in both of their home ties in this year’s Champions League qualification stage (2-0 against Linfield and 3-1 against Ekranas).
BATE have an excellent home record in Champions League qualification; despite not reaching the group stages they have won five and drawn one of their last six matches.
Austrian Bundesliga side Sturm Graz are looking to get to the group stage for the first time since 2000-01 and so far they are unbeaten in the qualifiers. However, they have made a poor start to their domestic season, picking up just five points from their opening four league games.
Their away form is also a concern, as they have won just once in their last five away matches and will have to up their game against a very solid unit in BATE tonight.
BATE are strongly fancied to continue their good form and get a win tonight and using your free £25 bet for signing up to bwin to back them could see a return of £45.
For the braver punter, backing BATE to win to nil may be the best bet at 37/20. This time, your £25 stake will return £71.25.
