Brighton vs Bournemouth prediction, odds & betting tips

Kick-off: 1500, 04/02/2023

Stadium: Amex Stadium

There seems nothing fluky about Brighton’s surge up to sixth place in the Premier League table and they are hard to oppose when hosting Bournemouth.

Albion have been playing great football and scoring goals for fun, while the Cherries have been heading rapidly towards relegation trouble.

On all known form, 93/100 for the Seagulls to win by more than one goal looks a solid Brighton vs Bournemouth prediction.

Brighton Odds

Brighton have won eight of their last 12 games in all competitions, with a whopping 27 goals scored in those victories.

Albion thumped Liverpool 3-0 in their last league game at Amex Stadium and beat the Reds 2-1 there in the FA Cup on Sunday.

On this occasion, the Seagulls had to show great spirit to come from behind following Harvey Elliott’s 30th-minute opener.

Lewis Dunk deflected in a Tariq Lamptey effort to level things up and Japan star Koaru Mitoma produced a fabulous piece of improvisation to grab a stoppage-time decider.

“I think it’s my best moment so far, a great goal at the end of the game and we won because of this goal – I’m very happy,” Mitoma told Albion TV.

“We have the confidence now to play against every opponent. We prepared well and played tactically well.

“We’ll keep going but we have to stay humble. Every match is important. We focus on the next game. We have to keep going.”

Brighton’s success has again led to transfer interest in their key players but that doesn’t seem to have unsettled the squad as a whole.

Looking at the Brighton vs Bournemouth odds, we like 27/20 for Albion to net more than twice in this match.

Last Brighton EPL line-up: Sanchez, Dunk, Van Hecke, Estupinan, March, Mac Allister, Gross, Lallana, Welbeck, Mitoma, Caicedo.

Brighton will be without injured pair Levi Colwill and Adam Lallana, while Alexis Mac Allister serves a one-match ban and striker Evan Ferguson faces a late fitness test. Facundo Buonanotte is in contention for his debut following his recent arrival from Rosario Central.

Bournemouth Odds

Bournemouth managed to stop the rot of six straight league and cup defeats when drawing 1-1 at home to Nottingham Forest.

Jaidon Anthony put the Cherries ahead following an assist from debutant Dango Ouattara, but Forest substitute Sam Surridge denied his former club a much-needed victory.

Gary O’Neil has since been boosted by some fresh reinforcements and will hope to get other players back from injury.

Burkina Faso forward Ouattara has been joined up front by Ghana striker Antoine Semenyo, who was snapped up from Bristol City.

Uruguay defender Matias Vina comes in on a six-month loan deal from Roma, with the option to make the move permanent in the summer.

Capped 28 times by his country, Vina represented La Celeste at the World Cup in Qatar and appeared in group games against South Korea and Portugal.

Chief executive Neill Blake told the club website: “Even though he only turned 25 in November, he arrives with a great deal of experience, including last season’s European success with Roma.”

Dynamo Kiev defender Ilya Zabarnyi and experienced goalkeeper Darren Randolph will also feature in a battle to avoid dropping straight back down to the Championship.

The Cherries will certainly need their new recruits to hit the ground running, though, as they face Newcastle, Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool in the coming weeks.

For now, we’re sticking with Albion to prevail 3-1 at 10/1 to finish off our Brighton vs Bournemouth betting tips.

Last Bournemouth line-up: Neto, Stephens, Kelly, Smith, Zemura, Lerma, Ouattara, Rothwell, Anthony, Christie, Moore.

O’Neil confirmed Bournemouth will be without David Brooks, Junior Stanislas and Ryan Fredericks. Late calls will be made as to whether Dominic Solanke and Marcus Tavernier can be involved.
