So, here goes….
Premier League: QPR v Wigan (Sat 3pm)
The west Londoners have been poor at home this season, managing just one win in the league at Loftus Road. But new manager Mark Hughes will be looking to change that and his players will be keen to make a good impression. Rangers’ performances have not necessarily been bad at home, they have simply not picked up enough points. Still, they should be too strong for a Wigan team who play with heart and occasional invention, but very little cutting edge, while also having the second-worst defence in the Premier League (42 goals conceded).
Accumulator selection: QPR to win @ evens
Serie A: Udinese v Catania (Sun 2pm)
Udinese have been a punter’s dream this season, winning eight and drawing just one of their nine home games, conceding a mere three goals. It is fair to say that they have converted the Stadio Friuli into a fortress, while Catania have struggled on their travels, winning just one away match all season. This looks as close to a home banker as it is possible to get.
Accumulator selection: Udinese to win @ 63/100
Arsenal v Manchester United
The Gunners have scored in their last nine home matches and the majority of those goals have come from their captain Robin van Persie, who with 22 strikes this season is almost single-handedly keeping Arsenal in with a chance of a top-four finish. He is usually odds-on to score at any time, but the price is bigger because he is facing the champions. However, this Manchester United have shipped a few goals already this season – including three apiece against Newcastle and Blackburn in the past few weeks – and Van Persie looks value to get on the scoresheet again.
Accumulator selection: Van Persie to score against Man Utd @ 6/5
Barnsley v Millwall
It has been a sorry season for Millwall so far, compounded in their last league match by a 6-0 mauling at the hands of Birmingham. They have been woeful in front of goal, failing to score in 14 of their 26 matches, with 15 of those games seeing less than 2.5 goals. Expect another low-scoring encounter when they visit Oakwell.
Accumulator selection: Under 2.5 goals in Barnsley v Millwall @ 3/4
