Manchester giants City and United have been trimmed again in bwin’s Premier League title odds 2017/18 following impressive wins over the weekend, while the other major contenders all drew.

City (11/10 from 5/4) edged ahead at the summit simply on alphabetical order after Sergio Aguero’s hat-trick inspired a 6-0 romp at Watford.

“Everyone’s buzzing,” said Raheem Sterling, who finished off the scoring with a late penalty after Gabriel Jesus and Nicolas Otamendi had also netted.

“It was a great performance. We got the ball and we were really clinical, that’s what the manager wants and that’s what we were.”

Neighbours United (5/2 from 11/4) joined them on 13 points thanks to a 4-0 demolition of Everton at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils took a long time to build on Antonio Valencia’s sensational fourth-minute strike, but eventually pulled clear through Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Romelu Lukaku and Anthony Martial.

Jose Mourinho commented: “I thought about Tottenham, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool; they didn’t win their matches and it was a chance for us to get two points, like they got last week when we drew against Stoke.

“City won the game and did their job, but I was thinking about the others, and when I saw their results, I thought it was an opportunity we cannot waste.”

Title holders suffer rare blank at Bridge

The two northern powerhouses are three points ahead of defending champions Chelsea, who eased back out to 11/2 in the Premier League title odds 2017/18 following a goalless stalemate with Arsenal, which featured a late red card for David Luiz.

Antonio Conte’s side have now suffered four dismissals already this season and the Italian said: “I hope to be more lucky with the referee’s decisions.”

Chelsea had scored in their previous 23 Premier League games at Stamford Bridge, but were held by an Arsenal team which ended a five-match losing streak at this venue.

The Gunners are six points off the pace and can be backed at 25/1 to end up on top of the table.

“It was vital for us, even above the result, to come out with a solid performance,” declared Arsene Wenger. “It was a battle all over the pitch. We responded well.

“Overall, I feel it’s a deserved point. And with a bit more freedom, less inhibition, we could really have won this game with one or two goals difference.”

Spurs drop more points at Wembley

Tottenham have yet to win in the Premier League at their new Wembley base after being frustrated by Swansea in another 0-0 stalemate.

Spurs (14/1) are five points adrift of City and United but recent signing Fernando Llorente is confident better results will come at the national stadium.

He said: “Games like this can happen because one team defends with a lot of players and defends well. It can happen.

“All the games will not happen like this. If Harry Kane scores when the ball touches the post, we are speaking about other things.

“We have to continue to work and nothing more. Winning at Wembley is very important. In the beginning, we have found some difficulties but we have to continue to work in this way.”

Liverpool (20/1) are alongside Spurs on eight points after a 1-1 draw with Burnley at Anfield, with Mohamed Salah on the scoresheet.

On a more positive note for the Reds, Philippe Coutinho pledged to give his all for the club, despite his frustration at being denied a move to Barcelona.

“It’s a great honour to receive an offer for a great club like that,” said the Brazil ace. “But it’s also a great honour to be here. Liverpool is a great club. I’m here and I’m going to give it my best as always.”
