Juventus were simply too strong and too streetwise for Monaco in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final and it is hard to see much changing in the return fixture in Turin.

The Italian giants are unbeaten at home in Europe this season and have been perfect here in Serie A, so even 14/1 for the French outfit to fight back and go through will attract little support.

Another win to nil is much more likely and 7/4 for that outcome is good enough to feature in our Juventus vs Monaco betting tips.

Gonzalo Higuain hogged the headlines after putting away a couple of well-crafted chances at Stade Louis II, but the playmaking skills of Paulo Dybala and the energy of wing-back Dani Alves also deserve plenty of credit.

“These lads are having a season which could become something quite extraordinary,” said head coach Massimiliano Allegri. “It was not easy, but after our goals, we stayed focused.”

Allegri insisted Juve must still be wary in the second leg. Speaking at yesterday’s press conference, he said: “Monaco will play an open and care-free match. We will have to be careful because they have great talent.”

It should be remembered that Juve have gone seven and a half hours without conceding in the knockout stages after previously seeing off Porto and Barcelona.

Looking at the Juventus vs Monaco odds, 7/1 for a repeat of the 2-0 scoreline is tempting.

Teenage sensation Kylian Mbappe did have a couple of early chances to put Monaco ahead in the opening encounter, but 39-year-old Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon kept those out and anything else thrown at him.

Monaco boss Leonardo Jardim hailed his players for giving “a great impression of French football”, but conceded: “Unluckily for us, Buffon made two or three unbelievable saves.”

The visitors have netted in six of their seven away games in this competition, hitting three goals on the road against both Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund, but Juve just looked to have too much defensive nous.

Juventus are 29/20 to be ahead at half-time and full-time again.

Team news

Juve have no new injury concerns and Sami Khedira is available again after missing the first leg through suspension. The German will compete for a midfield spot with Claudio Marchisio and Miralem Pjanic.

Monaco still have a doubt over left-back Benjamin Mendy, who missed the first leg and the weekend win at Nancy.
