Middlesbrough to beat Oxford @ 9/20

Boro have been struggling for goals in the Premier League but are still playing well enough to hold their own against West Brom and Everton at the Riverside and should be a class apart here. Aitor Karanka has spoken about the importance of a good FA Cup run to lift morale and they have already beaten Sheffield Wednesday 3-0 here in this competition.

Cardiff to beat Rotherham @ 11/25

The Bluebirds are on a nice run of form, winning six of their last nine Championship games and only tasting defeat against quality outfits Brighton, Reading and Norwich. Back-to-back away victories over Leeds and Derby should have really lifted spirits in the Welsh capital and they have already beaten basement dwellers Rotherham away from home this term.

Sheffield United to beat Scunthorpe @ 31/50

This League One top-of-the-table clash promises to be a cracker but we reckon the Blades are a cut above the Iron. The hosts have recovered from a slight blip last month and were ultra-impressive when hammering AFC Wimbledon 4-0 in their last match at Bramall Lane, one of 11 wins here this term. Scunthorpe have only picked up one point in three games and seem to be struggling up front.

Southend to beat Northampton @ Evens

The Shrimpers have only lost to Sheffield United and Millwall in their last 15 League One fixtures and have claimed eight victories during that progressive period. This month’s defeats of Scunthorpe at home and Oxford away read really well. Northampton are coming off two home wins but have lost their last four on the road, conceding five times at both Bristol Rovers and MK Dons.

Exeter to beat Stevenage @ 4/5

The Grecians will have been bitterly disappointed to concede twice in injury time when drawing 2-2 at Notts County on Tuesday but can get back on track here. Exeter can be forgiven last weekend’s loss to League Two high-flyers Plymouth and had previously won seven on the bounce. City prevailed 2-0 at Stevenage back in September despite having a man sent off early on and can confirm that superiority.
