South Korea vs Senegal: Timing favours Taegeuk Warriors

Kick Off: 1400, 11/06/2018

Stadium: Untersberg-Arena

South Korea and Senegal have both struggled in World Cup warm-up matches but the timing of this clash may give the Asian outfit an edge.

The Lions of Teranga lost 2-1 to Croatia only on Friday and their strength in depth will be stretched if Aliou Cisse shuffles his pack to account for such a quick turn-around.

That makes 29/10 for the Taegeuk Warriors a tempting enough price to get the nod in our South Korea vs Senegal betting tips.

A Look At South Korea’s Betting Odds

South Korea will be competing at a ninth straight World Cup at Russia 2018 after finishing second behind Iran in their qualifying group.

An extensive run of friendlies began reasonably well, with wins over Moldova and Latvia coming either side of a 2-2 draw with Jamaica.

Since then, they have lost to Northern Ireland, Poland and Bosnia and Herzegovina, although they were competitive in each contest and did get on the scoresheet every time.

In between, there was a decent 2-0 defeat of Honduras and the Taegeuk Warriors enjoyed plenty of possession in Thursday’s goalless draw with Bolivia.

Tottenham star Son Heung-min only came on for the last 30 minutes of that game, when a raft of substitutions affected the flow of play, so we’re hoping he will have more time to make an impact here.

Looking at the 11/10 for both teams to score has value appeal.

A Look At Senegal’s Betting Odds

Senegal made smooth progress in their World Cup pool, with four wins and two draws from six matches proving enough to finish five points clear of Burkina Faso.

They have failed to win any of four subsequent friendlies, with a 0-0 draw against Luxembourg completing a run of three straight stalemates before the loss to Croatia.

However, there were some encouraging signs in that latest setback, with Ismaila Sarr putting the Lions of Teranga ahead and Sadio Mane going close late on when hitting the post.

We think Senegal will be in good shape by the time they begin their Group H campaign against Poland on June 19, but such a short rest between warm-up matches is far from ideal here.

Punters can get 13/1 for the African side to suffer another 2-1 defeat and that completes our Senegal vs South Korea betting predictions.
