France are eyeing a first Six Nations title in 10 years after beating England 24-17 and Italy 35-22, both on home turf.
New coach Fabien Galthie pulled off a masterstroke when poaching defence supremo Shaun Edwards from Wales and there has definitely been a fresh approach from Les Bleus.
Some of the old guard have been moved on and young guns like fly-half Romain Ntamack are receptive to playing a more positive brand of rugby.
“The atmosphere is great in the team,” beamed lock Paul Willemse. “We have a lot of young guys and have a plan we want to follow.
“It’s about building our own history and we’re starting to do that now.”
However, there were a lot of errors and some trademark ill-discipline against the Azzurri, while Ntamack was far less impressive from the kicking tee than he was at breaking through.
France are also yet to prove they can maintain their progress on the road and Wales will be determined to prove a point to Edwards.
